Rich Price, Auto Recon's president
and founder originally began doing business in 1993
under the name of Paintless Dent Professionals (PDP).
Initially, PDP operated exclusively as a mobile paintless
dent removal service.
The business grew rapidly as PDP's
reputation for uncompromising craftsmanship, quality
service, and value spread by word of mouth.
PDP opened its first shop location
in Irvine, California in 1997. This enabled Rich to
respond to increasing customer demand for repair services
that could not be provided effectively on a mobile
basis. Window tinting, windshield repair, bumper repair
and interior/upholstery repair were among the new in-shop
services that were introduced.
The following year, a paint and
body shop was added to handle minor collision repairs
and small paint jobs. PDP's capabilities soon expanded
as additional personnel and high-tech equipment were
added to handle more extensive collision repairs and
paint work.
In order to satisfy a growing client
base, relocation to a larger, more convenient facility
became essential. As a result, in 2000, PDP moved its
entire operation to its current location at 14 McLaren
in Irvine, California.
At the beginning of 2003,
the business name was changed to Auto Recon. This
change recognized that we did so much more than dent
and ding repair. We had become a true one-stop shop
for automotive reconditioning, offering the most
complete range of services in Orange County.
